Meet The chef
Chef Raimo Strangis’ love of cooking began with family. Born of Italian decent and raised on an olive farm, food was always at the core of the family. The intoxicating smells of slow roasted tomatoes, fresh rosemary, and warm bread always had Raimo salivating with hunger and fascination. Learning from his grandmother and mother how to make everything from scratch, Raimo had his first hand at cooking when his father opened a small restaurant in Toronto.
”To me, an ingredient is like a melody—no two are the same. Creativity, experience, and taste are essential to creating a culinary vision. I believe every cook has their own song to sing.”Chef Raimo
Through many years of long hours, hard work, and dedication, Raimo worked his way up to become sous chef, then eventually head chef. His passion and love for quality ingredients encouraged him to source local, whenever possible—a philosophy he’s instilled in his Beach Club Restaurant. Raimo likes his food to be simple, flavourful and to tell a story—and his imaginative dishes certainly do just that.
